“The Talk”

“The Talk”

The 1 hour show discussed having “the talk” with family members regarding their mortality and issues surrounding end of life ranging from medical decisions, living arrangements and money. This is a topic we have been discussing in open forums and have dedicated an entire part of practice to. We believe in family unity at all stages, but unfortunately so many families do not have these types of  discussions for a variety of reasons, ranging from busyness, denial, family conflict, ect… The the end results are often sad and at a time when the family should be united they are isolated and divided.

This is an important topic for every family. This is not just a “senior” issue. I have worked with so many families who have been turned upside down due to an unexpected, traumatic diagnosis. Everyone  should have this conversation with their loved ones. This is a difficult but needed conversation. Some families may be able to do this on their own. They may possess the resources and information necessary in order to have an open frank discussion. Other families may find it too difficult to navigate this conversation on their own. Please consider utilizing our services. We have the resources and experience necessary to facilitate this type of family conversation with dignity and respect.
