The film El matrimonio: hecho para el Amor y la Vida (Marriage: Made for Love and Life) invites us into a story about a faithful marriage and a young couple struggling with the idea of marriage. As the story unfolds, the question arises about the unique meaning of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. In a very real, gentle, and straightforward way, this short film helps us understand why marriage is a gift and more to it, why marriage between a man and a woman is sacred and must be treated as such. It presents us with a family that is coming together for the grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. The grandson is bringing his live-in girlfriend to the celebration. While he knows his family, particularly his father, disapproves of cohabitation prior to marriage, he is modern-minded and feels his father is not understanding modern times. Stopping by his grandfather and grandmother’s home before he heads home, a special encounter ensues that brings forth a moving and loving discussion that will stick with you in a way you did not see coming. This family is about love…real love.
